The non-selection of David Warner in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) playing XI has hogged the spotlight in the 14th edition of the IPL. Warner was first removed as the captain of the side and was subsequently dropped from the SRH Playing XI as well.

Then, for the match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the Aussie left-hander was left behind in the team hotel itself. After SRH’s final match of IPL 2021, the skipper of the ‘Orange Army’, Kane Williamson posted a picture on Instagram.

The picture shows the entire team in a huddle, but one man seems to be missing. Yes, you guessed it right, it is David Warner. Williamson added in the caption that the 14th season was a tough one for the Hyderabad franchise, and there were a lot of lessons to be learnt.

The SRH skipper also thanked his teammates, support staff, and the fans for their support. “A tough season with plenty of lessons. Always a pleasure playing with these guys. A special mention to the team, the staff, and especially the fans,” commented Williamson.

And, this post received a reaction from Warner himself. Warner commented that Williamson had not posted a picture with him. The 34-year-old also added that he thought that both of them were ‘tight’. “No pic with me in there, thought we were so tight,” commented Warner.

David Warner is one of the greatest batsmen in IPL history

Without doubt, David Warner will go down as one of the greatest batsmen to have ever wielded the willow in IPL cricket. The Australian cricketer is the 5th highest run-scorer in IPL history and has plundered a staggering 5449 runs at an average of 41.59, and a strike rate of close to 140.

Apart from that, Warner has also scored 4 hundreds and 50 fifties in the IPL as well. Warner has won the Orange Cap award a staggering 3 times as well and is the only player to do so in IPL history. Warner even led the SRH side to their first and only IPL title in the year 2016 as well.
