The fifth season of the Bangladesh Premier League is less than 3 months away. The BPL governing body has allowed the Sylhet franchise to participate in this year’s tournament hence the tournament will be contested between 8 teams. The tournament will also see a grand opening ceremony in which popular Bollywood singer Arijit Singh is set to perform.

Tickets to cost as low as BDT 100

The competition will kick off on November 2 and team’s can now field five foreign players in their XI. The BPL is now considering lowering down the prices for the forthcoming season to attract more people to the stadiums. The governing council has made this decision considering the low turnout of people during the last season. Sheikh Sohel, a member of the governing council of BPL, wants the ticket prices to be affordable for most people.

“Ticket price will not be higher this year. The price will be affordable for everyone as we want everyone to watch this year’s BPL. Ticket price for normal stands will not be more than 100, 200 or 300. And it is not possible to make it 50 taka as a standard also should be maintained,” said Sheikh Sohel.

The lowest ticket price during the fourth season of the BPL stood at BDT 200. If the authorities decide to lower it down further, then one could expect a lot more people cheering for their favorite teams through the stands.
