India and Delhi Capitals (DC) off-spinner Ravi Ashwin is known for his presence of mind on and off the field. On Twitter, he is often busy having light hearted discussions with cricketers and his fans. On Wednesday, he once again came up with a hilarious tweet taking a cheeky dig at the Universe Boss Chris Gayle after his team DC lost the game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) the previous night.

It was a tough day at the office for the table toppers as they went down to a spirited performance from the KL Rahul-led side. Despite Shikhar Dhawan scoring a scintillating ton, DC ended up on a losing side thanks to blistering performances from Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran with the bat.

Coming back to Ravi Ashwin’s tweet, there was a moment when he tied Gayle’s shoe laces displaying amazing sportsmanship on the field during the match. He posted the same picture on his official Twitter handle and hilariously stated that it is better to tie Gayle’s both feet together and then bowl at him. It was only a light-hearted statement from him and then also said that his team will bounce back from a tough loss in the game.

“The devil is always in the detail. “Tie both his feet together, before bowling to him”. Tough day for us @DelhiCapitals but, we will bounce back stronger,” Ashwin’s tweet read.

Here’s the tweet:

Ravi Ashwin in IPL 2020

Ravi Ashwin started the 13th edition of the IPL superbly picking two wickets in a single over KXIP. But then he injured himself in the same over only to be ruled out of the action for the next couple of games. However, after his comeback, he has only bowled better and has emerged as one of the best spinners of this season.

So far, he has featured in 8 matches and has picked up as many wickets at an average of 23.12 and stunning economy of 7.11. Ashwin will be crucial for the Capitals going forward in the business end of the tournament. DC have also played well as a team winning seven out of 10 matches.
