England T20 specialist bowler Tymal Mills feels that the poor outings in Big Bash League (BBL) were the reason for him going unsold in the IPL auction this year.  He is currently featuring for Karachi Kings in the ongoing third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has endured a decent outing so far in the tournament and has scalped 5 wickets in three matches for his team. However, he is still hopeful of a brief IPL stint as the players do get injured midway through the tournament.

Mills has opted to play only the shortest format of the game due to the injuries early in his career. He was no less than a sensation last year when he made his debut at the international level and was also picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the auction for a whopping amount of Rs. 12.5 Crores. But he failed to live up to the price tag and was completely ignored by the franchises this time around.

Had a great time with RCB

Tymal Mills took the harsh reality of going unsold in the IPL auction as one of the tough challenges in his life. “I had a poor Big Bash and the timing of that wasn’t that great for my chances of playing in the IPL. But then I can’t really complain as last year I had a great time with Royal Challengers Bangalore and as always, there are ups and downs in all aspects of life. There are two sides to the coin, and I have now experienced both sides of that,” he said in an interview to Sky Sports.

He also believed that it is all about timing and a good show in the PSL would help him having a brief stint in the IPL as the players might get injured during the tournament. “All I can do now is to focus on having a good PSL and as we know, guys get injured for whatever reasons and I could still get a call-up. Whether it’s a call-up for England or a chance to play in the IPL, I need to have some good games for Karachi Kings and all those things will take care of themselves,” Mills further added.
