4. Brian Lara – 400:
Brian Lara became the only batsman in Test history to reclaim the record of the highest individual score when he broke the 400 runs barrier against England in 2004 in St. John’s. Yes, Lara once again broke the record of highest individual score in Test history against the same opponents at the same ground, 10 years apart.
He hit 43 fours and 4 sixes in his 582 ball sojourn. West Indies declared as soon as he reached 400. He broke Hayden’s record of 380 which stood for barely 6 months. Brian Lara is the only batsman in first-class history to hit centuries in multiples of 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500.
