The former left-handed opening batsman of Australia was a catalyst for the Australian batting line up. On a consistent basis, Hayden did manage to provide the Australian batting with some glamorous starts. He was involved in 194 winning occasions and scored a total of 31 centuries and 49 half centuries. He scored 10923 runs in those matches at an average of over 51.
