He has played 67 ODIs so far, picking up 87 wickets at an average of 32.71 and an economy of 5.59. He picked up a hat-trick against New Zealand during the 1st ODI at Mirpur in the year 2013. He has been a potential match winner for the island nation. In 164 ODIs, Mathews has scalped 102 wickets at an average of 34.77 and an economy of 4.61.
