5. Austin Codrington (Canada) – 5 for 27:
Canada’s Austin Codrington became the first player from a Non Test playing nation to pick a five wicket haul on debut in ODIs. It came in 2003 World Cup against Bangladesh at Durban which was Canada’s first ever ODI game since 1979. Defending a total of 181, Austin picked up wicket of Hannan Sarkar during his first over and innings’ 11th.
Later Bangladesh were situated at 106 in 21 overs for loss of 5 wickets were looking towards a victory before Codrington started his outburst. He picked up wicket of Alok Kapali in 22nd over and later got Mortaza and Baisya in spare of 3 balls. He finished the Bangladesh’s innings at 120 as he removed Rafique and finished with a five-for.
