Alistair Brown holds the record for the highest score in List A matches with his mountain high score of 268 runs against Glamorgan.
Surrey met Glamorgan in 2002 and batted first. Openers Ian Ward (97) and Alistair Brown (268) scored 286 for the first wicket. Surrey managed to score 438 runs in their 50 overs. What came after was not expected by Surrey as Glamorgan went after their bowling with nothing to lose. Their Captain Robert Croft (119), Daniel Hemp (102) and Stuart Thomas (71 off 41 balls) took the fight to the opposition. Surrey managed to hold Glamorgan to 429 runs and won the match by just 9 runs.
This is widely regarded as the most exciting List A match until now. Alistair Brown also became the first man to score two double centuries in List A format. He had previously scored 203* against Hampshire in 1997.
