India made its highest score in ODIs, 418/5 thanks to a brilliant 219 by Virender Sehwag. Sehwag hit 25 fours and 7 sixes in his then world record innings. It was the second double hundred in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar’s 200 against South Africa. Sehwag was totally brutal on every West Indian bowler. Queensland put in Tasmania in to bat after winning the toss and Tasmania scored a mammoth 398-1 after their 50 overs ended. Ben Dunk scored a record 229* with 15 fours and 13 sixes. He was ably supported by Tim Paine who scored 125 off just 127 balls. But his record went in vain, when Queensland hauled the score with the help of centuries from Usman Khwaja (166) and Chris Hartley (142) in 47 overs. He scored 248 runs, the 3rd highest individual score in List A cricket with the help of 30 fours and 7 sixes. India A scored 433-3 in their allotted 50 overs, with centuries from Shikhar Dhawan (248) and Captain Cheteshwar Pujara (109). South Africa A managed to score 394 runs with help of Reeza Hendricks (106) and Vaughn Van Jaarsveld (108). Rohit Sharma took the world record from Virender Sehwag when he hit an astonishing 264 runs against Sri Lanka in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. India batted first after winning the toss and scored 404-5 in 50 overs. But the match was about the unbelievable innings of 264 runs by Rohit Sharma. He played 173 balls and hit a world record 33 fours and 9 sixes. Rohit Sharma had not played in the 4 matches preceding this one due to an injury. But he returned and returned in style. He just didn’t take his foot off the gas pedal. Sri Lankan bowlers were just unable to stop him and Virat Kohli (66) from hitting them to all parts of the ground. Surrey met Glamorgan in 2002 and batted first. Openers Ian Ward (97) and Alistair Brown (268) scored 286 for the first wicket. Surrey managed to score 438 runs in their 50 overs. What came after was not expected by Surrey as Glamorgan went after their bowling with nothing to lose. Their Captain Robert Croft (119), Daniel Hemp (102) and Stuart Thomas (71 off 41 balls) took the fight to the opposition. Surrey managed to hold Glamorgan to 429 runs and won the match by just 9 runs. This is widely regarded as the most exciting List A match until now. Alistair Brown also became the first man to score two double centuries in List A format. He had previously scored 203* against Hampshire in 1997.
