Probably the greatest left handed batsman ever to play only 21 tests, South African Graeme Pollock also scored the very first double hundred in limited overs format. Graeme Pollock hit a punishing 222 playing for Eastern Province against Border. This was the very first 200 in limited overs cricket. Eastern Province scored 372-6 thanks to 222 from Pollock and 115 from Arthur Short.
Border could just muster 166-2 in their 60 overs. Eastern Province won the match by 206 runs.
