Top 10 highest individual scores in Tests in the last decade
9. Alastair Cook (England)- 294:
The Edgbaston crowd witnessed a poetic flow of the scoresheet as Alastair Cook stroked his way to a superb 294. He found the ropes on 33 occasions and tested India’s patience. A triple century eluded him, but Captain Cook’s 294 is the highest score by a batsman at Edgbaston surpassing Peter May’s 285 against West Indies in 1957.
Cook’s effort is also the second-longest innings in terms of balls faced by an English batsman against India. Geoff Boycott’s 555-ball 246 in 1967 is on top of the list. Cook’s 773 minute long marathon handed England a win by an innings and 242 runs.
