3. Andrew Jones & Martin Crowe – 467 v Sri Lanka:

In the first Test at Wellington in 1991, Martin Crowe and Andrew Jones put on 467 runs for the 3rd wicket, a world record back then, and currently the second highest partnership for the 3rd wicket. New Zealand was staring at defeat after their collapse of 174 in the first innings. Sri Lanka in response had posted 497 runs. But in the 2nd innings, A Jones and M Crowe joined hands to save the Kiwi side. Both the batsmen were dismissed by Arjuna Ranatunga. Andrew Jones scored 186 while Martin Crowe was very unlucky to be dismissed at 299.
