Top 10 Teams With Most Ducks In ODI Cricket: When you think what is cricket? The answer- it’s an enthralling game which is widely regarded by many as the batsman’s game. The advent of one day cricket goes far back to the era of early 1970’s. We all are very familiar with the batsman’s barbarous and demolishing range of strokes in the back end of the innings which takes the bowlers to haywire. Although, it’s quite surprising but it is due to the very fact that they have played the least number of matches among all the teams in the list. Bangladesh played its first match in 1986 and so far it has featured in 312 matches. They also hold the record for minimum fifties, hundreds, average and strike rate in the list. (© Getty Images) The Proteas side holds admirable stats which are worth appreciating. The rainbow nation which has played 550 matches has 322 ducks against its name. The side is renown for batters like Kallis, AB de Villiers, Smith, and Amla. It has the highest average and strike rate of 33 and 78 respectively. They are ranked 9th in our list. 8. Barring the era in which majestic players like the Flower Brothers, Alistair Campbell, Heath Streak featured, they have been an invariably inconsistent side. The team which played its first game in 1971 has so far capped 243 players in ODI’s which is the most number of players for any team in this format of the game. But, undoubtedly the Kangaroos are the best ODI team to has played the game. They are the five times World Champions and their glorious stats are second to none. Australia played the second most number of matches which is 870 and has 504 ducks against their name. This colossal side has also racked up the most number of fifties that is 1063 and is second in terms of most hundreds – 193. 4. West Indies – 537 Ducks: Chris Gayle West Indies. The Sri Lankans who played their first match in 1975 and has so far featured in 765 matches has piled up 558 ducks. Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas and Romesh Kaluwithrana are the five players who feature in the list of top 10 players with most ducks in ODI Cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya leads the list with most ducks- 34. 1. Pakistan – 618 Ducks: Shahid Afridi Pakistan. (© Getty Images) Pakistani side tops the chart in the rather unwanted list of most ducks by a team in One Day International Cricket. They have played 857 matches so far in which their players have been dismissed without a run on the board for as many as 618 times. Pakistani duo of Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram occupies the second and third places on the list of most ducks by an individual in ODI’s with 30 and 28 ducks respectively.
