Top 5 female cricketers and their salaries
In the recent past, the cricket boards have taken the decision to increase the pay scale for the woman cricketers as well.
1. Smriti Mandhana, India – 50 lakhs
In the present scenario if Virat Kohli is Superman, then Smriti Mandhana is the Wonder Woman of Indian cricket. The youngster has helped the Indian women’s cricket reach the next level. A crucial half-century in her Test debut against England in their den was the first sign of her international success. After that, she excelled in the white ball cricket and till now she has piled over 1,900 runs in 50 ODIs at an average of 42.
Smriti is one of the few players who has adapted to all the three formats like fish to the water. The left-hander can tear apart any bowling attack with her power hitting. Along with the innovative shots, Mandhana also possesses a classic technique that has made her a complete batswoman. In 2018 T20 World Cup she was the 3rd highest run-getter in the tournament with 178 runs in 5 innings.
Last year she was adjudged the ICC Women’s cricketer of the year which is no feat at the young age of 22. Her mercurial rise in the international circuit has prompted the board to give her the leadership duties in T20I cricket. Smriti has been awarded an A contract which makes her annual salary 50 lakhs.
