Top 5 Non-Pakistani players who rocked the PSL

The inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has seen a plethora of firsts in Pakistan cricket. Working on a model that is identical to the IPL, foreign players too were included in the sides. Apart from the massive incentives, the PSL presented the perfect opportunity for Pakistani and overseas cricketers to get their eye in prior to the start of the World T20. That said, here is a list of 5 overseas players who have rocked in the inaugural edition of the PSL. 1. However, his performances in the inaugural PSL could possibly make a case for the 30-year-old. Bopara’s performance with both bat and ball ensured that the Karachi Kings reached the play-off qualifiers. Bopara made 329 runs and picked up 11 wickets in the tournament. He smashed an unbeaten 71 and picked up 6 wickets in the same match against the Lahore Qalandars. 2. Andre Russell (Islamabad United): (Photo Source: Getty Images) The West Indian sizzled with the ball as he ended up with 13 wickets in the tournament. Russell has been instrumental in making sure that Islamabad United made it through to the final. Russell also boasts of a decent economy rate of 7.91. Russell has also come good with the bat with swashbuckling finishes towards the end of the innings. 3. Cameron Delport (Lahore Qalandars): (Photo Source: BCCI) South African domestic cricketer Cameron Delport has impressed one and all with brilliant performances with the bat for the Lahore Qalandars. Despite the Qalandars finishing at the bottom of the table, Delport amassed a total of 227 runs in just 8 matches. Even more impressive was his strike rate of 122. Delport’s best performance came against the Peshawar Zalmi where he smashed a quickfire 78 as he guided the Qalandars to their first win of their campaign. 4. Tamim Iqbal (Peshawar Zalmi): Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal. (Photo by MUNIR UZ ZAMAN/AFP/Getty Images) Tamim Iqbal was one of three Bangladeshi players to feature in the PSL. The flashy opener concluded his season with the Peshawar Zalmi with 267 runs off just 6 innings. He also boasts of having the second highest average with 66.75. Iqbal smashed an unbeaten 80 off 58 balls to against Islamabad United. The Peshawar Zalmi secured a 7 wicket win over Islamabad. 5. Grant Elliot (Quetta Gladiators): New Zealand cricketer Grant Elliott. (Photo by INDRANIL MUKHERJEE/AFP/Getty Images) The New Zealand all-rounder impressed everyone with splendid performances with bat and ball. Having been snapped up by the Quetta Gladiators early on in the auction, Elliot led the way with the ball picking up 11 wickets. He also stitched the highest 10th wicket partnership of 63 with Zulfiqar Babar against Peshawar Zalmi. However, the Gladiators lost the match by 8 wickets.
