Chris Rogers a seasoned opening batsman gave Australia good starts in last three matches of the Border-Gavaskar trophy with David Warner.  In the first test match he scored 9 and 21 falling early on both occasions. From the second test onwards he scored 7 fifties in a row. In the second test match he scored 55 and 55. At Melbourne he scored 57 and 69. In the test match at Sydney he played a crucial knock of 95 and 56 in both the innings.  During the fourth test match Rogers and Warner gave the Aussies a perfect start, as the two struck together a 200 runs partnership for the first wicket. He not only provided the stability at the top but also allowed the batsmen coming after him an opportunity to score without any pressure. He finished fifth in the series with 417 runs.

There some other players the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, also showed their batting skill for India and Burns for Australia also had a good series.
