Top 5 worst bowling economies in an innings in a Test match (Min 3 overs)
5. James Edward Derrick Sealy West Indies vs Australia 1931
3 overs, 32 runs, economy of 10.66 runs per over
West Indies played Australia at the Brisbane in a timeless match. Australia batted first and scored 558 runs with Don Bradman making 223 and Bill Ponsford making 109 runs. It was mostly a run fest for the Australian batsmen with Alan Kippax contributing a well-made 84 runs. Amongst the many bowlers tried by captain George ‘Jackie’ Grant was James Sealy, who gave away 32 runs in the 3 overs he bowled.
Sealy was mainly a batsman but was called upon to bowl to give the main bowlers a rest and the Australian batsmen made merry against him.
