Top class Mohammad Irfan gets accolades from Rashid Khan
Irfan returned with the magical figures of 4-3-1-2.
Mohammad Irfan stunned everyone by delivering the most economical spell in the history of the T20 cricket in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He conceded only a solitary run in his four-over spell and went on to pick two crucial wickets of the opposition while playing for the Barbados Tridents in the game against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. However, Rashid Khan has lauded Irfan for his efforts and has termed his spell as top class.
Irfan took the new cherry in the hand for his team as they were defending a middling total of 148 runs. He swung the new ball beautifully and scalped Chris Gayle off the very first delivery to dent the chase for the Patriots early. The scoring was immensely difficult for them thanks to some exceptional bowling from the left-arm seamer. In his very next over, Irfan sent back the dangerous Evin Lewis for just 1 run/

Unfortunately, the Tridents lost the game as none of the other bowlers supported Mohammad Irfan. It turned out to be a one-sided affair eventually but the World record was created by the lanky fast bowler. The social media was abuzz with congratulatory messages for him even as he also thanked everyone for all the support. He was also overwhelmed with the atmosphere in the Caribbean islands and was thrilled to be part of the CPL.
“Truly honored & humbled to make the world record for the most economical four-over bowling figures in the history of T20 cricket: 4-3-1-2. Thanks @CPL & @BIMTridents. Also, I can’t say it enough but Caribbean people are pure love. #SayaCorporation @TalhaAisham,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan, who is currently in Ireland and is gearing up for the first ODI against the home side, also loved his spell and responded to Irfan’s tweet. He praised his efforts and termed his bowling as ‘absolutely top class’.
