Trent Boult names past legends he would have loved bowling to
Boult is currently playing the IPL with Rajasthan Royals.
New Zealand pacer Trent Boult revealed that if given an opportunity to bowl to a batter from the past, he would like to bowl to Indian cricket veteran Virender Sehwag and West Indies legend Brian Lara. Boult is currently playing at the Indian Premier League 2022 and is representing the Rajasthan Royals. In the eight games so far, he has scalped as many wickets at an economy of 8.57.
Boult said that he would love to bowl to Sehwag and Lara and also named Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar, and Chris Gayle as a few more of his picks during an interaction with ESPNcricinfo. Sehwag represented India from 1999 to 2013 and was a part of the iconic 2011 World Cup-winning squad. He was a destructive batter and was known for aggressive shots while opening the game for his side. The veteran has multiple records registered to his name.
He holds the record for the most number of Test double-centuries by an Indian opener, and he is also the first and only Indian batter to score two triple hundreds. The 43-year-old played 104 Test matches, 251 ODI games and 19 T20Is. He is also among those players who scored a Test century on debut.
Whereas, Brian Lara, the Trinidad legend, has been one of the most prolific batters for the West Indies, and is also acknowledged as one of the finest batters of all time. He is someone whom the youngsters look up to, and admire him for the sensational performances that he has given for his team.
Lara is known for his astonishing innings that came against England in the year 2004 when he smashed an unbeaten 400. It has been almost two decades since that knock but it remains to be the highest individual score in a Test innings. Lara is currently associated with the Sunrisers Hyderabad as their batting coach and strategic advisor at the 15th edition of the IPL.
