Twitter bashes Harsha Bhogle for deleting his 'Nizamuddin' tweet
Thousands of people attended the event at Nizamuddin Markaz ins Delhi on March 13.
The outbreak of Coronavirus has affected India, like many other countries, as well. The country is under lockdown since March 24 in a bid to arrest the transmission of the virus. But the number of people suffering from the pandemic are increasing with every passing day. And the discovery of the new epicentre of the Coronavirus – the six-storey building of the Tablighi Jamaat – called a markaz has stunned everyone.
Around 3,400 came together for a religious gathering at the Nizmuddin Markaz on March 13. The event took place even after an order by the Delhi government which said that no religious or social or even political gatherings of more than 200 people will be allowed. The officials have searched thousands of people, including the foreigners, who attended the gathering and then went to their respective states, after some of them in the gathering were tested positive for the Coronavirus.
This has caused a ruckus across the country as many are criticising after the event went ahead even after an order from the Delhi Government. While the former India cricketer and the BJP MP Gautam Gambhir also came up with a tweet requesting the people to stay at home and follow the Government’s orders strictly, the renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle also appealed the citizens of the country to take necessary steps and avoid the incidents like what happened at the Nizamuddin Markaz.
Harsha Bhogle deleted the tweet including the word ‘Nizmuddins’
“For the next few weeks, let us make our larger community and its welfare the only thing to adhere to. If we prevent this virus from multiplying, it will make us so much stronger. We cannot afford more Nizamuddins,” he wrote in his tweet. The statement, ‘We cannot afford more Nizamuddins’ definitely meant that the people should avoid such gatherings in the near future.
However, to avoid controversy, Harsha Bhogle deleted the tweet and replaced ‘Nizamuddins’ with ‘them’ only to face the wrath for the same. “For the next few weeks, let us make our larger community and its welfare the only thing to adhere to. If we prevent this virus from multiplying, it will make us so much stronger. Please stay away from mass gatherings. We cannot afford them,” his new tweet read.

Moreover, he also provided the clarifcation for the same stating that his previous tweet was finger-pointing to a particular event and his only intention was to highlight that everyone should avoid mass gatherings. However, Twitterati didn’t like him deleting his earlier tweet and bashed him for the same.
