Twitter has a field day as a Pakistan fan calls Virat Kohli 'classless'
Kohli's celebrations after running out Joe Root is the talk of the town.
Team India ended the first day of the opening Test match at Edgbaston on a high thanks to the stupendous effort from the bowlers. England were reduced to 285/9 at stumps after being comfortably placed 216/3 at one stage. However, the highlight of the day was Virat Kohli running out Joe Root with a direct throw which triggered a sensational collapse which nobody saw coming. Moreover, the Indian captain mic-drop celebration was also the talk of the town after the end of day’s play.
It was Kohli’s way to celebrate after sending his counterpart who was set to notch up his 14th Test ton. He mocked Root’s ‘mic-drop’ celebration and indicated the crowd to stay quiet. While many loved the competitive attitude of Kohli, few lashed out at him for giving a send-off to Root despite playing a wonderful knock.
This was the much-awaited series and the world is following the proceedings in the United Kingdom. A Pakistani fan who is followed by prominent media persons in the country didn’t like Kohli’s way to celebrate the dismissal and called him classless. His choice of words, however, was wrong and had to face the backlash from the Indian fans.
“jo marzi karle in the end Virat Kohli will always remain a classless ch**ya. Bharati triggeration reaching unprecedented levels, and this is just Day 1 of the series. blew kisses to Bairstow, shushing gesture to crowd then shouts Fuck off BC,” he wrote in a series of tweets.
Indian fans hit back
After such stern words for their captain, it was only fair that the Indian fans lashed out at him. They trolled him hilariously by reminding the wrongdoings of Pakistan cricketers over the years. The likes of Mohammad Amir and Shahid Afridi were also dragged into the conversation which wasn’t fair but the way the fan threw expletives towards Virat Kohli wasn’t fair either.
