Twitter goes mental to see MS Dhoni do a perfect split as India lose the 2nd T20I

The second T20I between India and New Zealand saw the visitors coming back into the T20I series, and thereby, setting up the 3rd T20I perfectly as the series decider at the brand new Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Indian bowlers were put under pressure after the initial onslaughts from Martin Guptill and Colin Munro. Munro finally lived up to his reputation with his second T20I century of his career. Munro remained unbeaten on 109 off just 58 balls at a strike rate of 187, smashing 7 fours and 7 maximums. New Zealand posted a daunting total of 197 in front of the Indians to take the series by a margin of 2-0. However, Trent Boult, who had a forgetful couple of outings in Kanpur and Delhi, went on to show why he is such a reputed bowler in the present times. He quickly removed Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma out of the equation, thereby making things difficult for their captain Kohli and India. Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli counter-attacked with their partnership before Iyer could only lob a knuckleball from Munro in the air. Hardik Pandya misreading a wrong one from Sodhi and lost his leg stump soon after. That said, one has to say that defining innings of the match came from MS Dhoni who was finding it hard to rotate the strike and middle the ball throughout the majority of his knock. Which also affected his captain Virat Kohli at the other end who was looking in supreme touch and on his way to take India home in another mammoth run chase. Even though MSD was struggling, he refused to give in as it clearly evident from one the incidents from the match. After getting beaten on a spinning delivery, while trying to step out and lose the shackles, Dhoni did a perfect split to get inside his crease before keeper Glenn Phillip could remove the bails. As a result, MSD became a fodder for hilarious memes instantly due to his elasticity.
