Twitter holds Virat Kohli responsible for Germany's early exit from the FIFA World Cup
It will be tough for even the best of meme makers to understand this logic.
The fever of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia has garnered all the attention of the sporting fans currently. The tournament has also seen some shocking exits as the underdogs have prevailed when it required the most. But the world was stunned when they saw the defending champions Germany going down to South Korea in the must-win encounter which also ended the campaign prematurely. However, Twitterati has now held Virat Kohli responsible for their ouster from the mega event and has trolled him over the same.
The knockout matches have started in the World Cup and the unpredictable sport has continued to surprise the fans. Spain was knocked out by Russia stunningly in the penalty shootout the other day even as Portugal and Argentina were shown the exit doors by Uruguay and France respectively. The teams that were tipped to lift the title no more exist in the World Cup.
Why Kohli?
Some of the fans might be wondering about the logic for trolling Virat Kohli with regards Germany’s exit from the extravaganza. But the trollers never really care and they have literally linked the Indian captain supporting them in 2014 World Cup which they eventually went on to win. Moreover, they have also pointed out how he is yet to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last 11 years of the tournament.
Kohli got married to the Bollywood Diva Anushka Sharma at a scenic venue in Tuscany, Italy and some of the tweeples believe that Italy didn’t qualify for the World Cup because of him. Interestingly, he supported Brazil on Monday as they were playing against Mexico. Everyone feared that they will be knocked out of the tournament now but Brazil prevailed by beating the opponents by 2-0.
While the Indian cricket captain is in England currently and is gearing up for the T20I series against the home side, he must be least interested about all these trolls and rather focus on the task in hand.
Here’s how Kohli was trolled:
