Twitter is perplexed over Kedar Jadhav's sudden inclusion in the ODI squad
Kedar was earlier ignored despite proving his fitness.
‘Lack of Communication’ has been the common word in the Indian cricketing circuit over the last month. While Karun Nair and Murali Vijay were the point of discussion then, Kedar Jadhav has hogged the limelight now for the same reason. After not being picked for the last three ODIs against Windies, the cricketer was surprised as he had cleared all the fitness tests and was playing in the Deodhar Trophy when the squad was announced.
He batted well in the game for India A as well and went on to bowl a few overs to stake his claim. But the selectors didn’t pick him and MSK Prasad cleared the air over the same saying that Kedar is a little injury prone and they wanted him to take some more time before being added to the national team.
Kedar, however, was surprised on his omission and spoke publicly about the same saying, “Rehabilitation was good. Everything’s fine as of now. I cleared all the fitness tests; I was cleared match fit, which is why I was playing here. I didn’t know (he was not selected). Obviously, I have to see why they have not picked me.”
Kedar finds himself in the squad
However, within 24 hours, after his comments, MSK Prasad and his team included Kedar Jadhav in the ODI team for the last two matches. If the chief selector’s earlier comments were anything to go by, the all-rounder shouldn’t be playing in the national side at least until in the ongoing ODI series.
But on Friday, when they picked a plethora of squads for India’s upcoming assignments, the selectors also picked Jadhav for the last two ODIs in the Indian team. So what changed so quickly? No one has a clear idea about what is going on inside the dressing room at the moment and even the fans are left confused.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Jadhav’s inclusion in the team:
