Twitter loses respect for World No. 1 batsman Steve Smith
Chasing a target of 188 Australia are certainly in a bit of trouble as India has successfully dismissed Steve Smith at a score of 28. Smith was looking steady at the crease before Indian pacer Umesh Yadav ended his knock. He was caught leg before wicket in front of the stumps as the ball kept quite low. The Australian skipper tried to defend the ball but failed to get any bat on it and as a result had to depart leaving his team in a bit of trouble.
The Indians looked quite sure of the wicket and started celebrating as soon as the umpire gave his decision. But Smith, who is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world currently did not look happy with the decision of the umpire and wanted to consult with the changing room whether to use the DRS or not.
Smith, after having a chat with his partner at the crease turned towards the changing room and looking for an answer. But the umpire was quick to react and clearly pointed out that a player cannot consult with the changing room on his decision to use the decision review system. As a result, Smith had to make his long walk back to the pavilion much to the joy of the Indian supporters.
Smith’s wicket was an important one for the Indians as they are defending a very low score which a team like Australia are very much capable of chasing down. The game is now nicely poised as the Indians are getting the all important wickets at regular intervals. At the tea break, Australia has managed a score of 101 runs with six of their players back in the hut. India now just need only 4 wickets to seal the match where as, Australia need 87 more runs to make it 2-0 in the series.
