Twitter Reactions: Australia gets past New Zealand with a thrilling win at Adelaide: The first-day night Test at the Adelaide Oval proved to be a great contest as both teams held on to the string of the match till the very end. For Australia, it was Shaun Marsh who battered sensibly to get to 49 but was dismissed in the dying stages of the chase, but till then he had almost done the job for the team and they needed just 11 to record history. And as Peter Siddle and Mitchell Starc ran for the double they etched their names in the history book by recording a 3-wicket win in the 1st ever Test played with the Pink ball.

In the historic Test, the ball ruled over the bat and the match ended inside 3 days as no team could get past the score of 225 in all the four innings. The Australian bowlers did well to bowl out New Zealand for 202 in the first innings and despite the absence of spearhead Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood took up the role, grabbed a fifer and ensured the Kiwi’s did not have enough lead to cause troubles while they came out to chase it in the 4th innings.

New Zealand bowled with a lot of heart and intent, Trent Boult delivered an inspiring spell, though he had very little to bowl to and every time an edge flew off for a four, it also reduced the required runs. As a result of his superb bowling spell, he got a 5-wicket haul which kept the Aussies on their toes till the last run was scored.

All in all, the historic day-night Test ended beautifully, the pink ball proved to be a success as it swung and turned, and stayed true for its duration.
