Twitter Reactions: Butter-fingered RCB display shabby fielding
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a horrid time in the field. If their bowling woes weren’t enough for the skipper Virat Kohli to worry about, the fielding has added to his concerns. RCB missed the ball as if the ball was red hot, as described by the commentator Darren Sammy. It all started with Saurabh Tiwary getting two lives in two consecutive balls off the bowling of Varun Aaron in the last over of the powerplay.
Saurabh Tiwary was first dropped by Stuart Binny in the covers. Binny dived forward and the ball went in and out of his hand. On the very next delivery, Tiwary got another lucky ride as Sachin Baby dropped a relatively simpler catch in the covers.
In the next over when Aaron had the ball, he managed to get a top edge of Tiwary and the ball went up in the air. The bowler and the running Shane Watson came close to the ball and waited for each other to catch the ball. The end result – ball dropping in between those two players. Interestingly, RCB skipper Virat Kohli showed extreme calmness till then.
Yuzvendra Chahal had the ball in hand and managed to deceive a charging down Saurabh Tiwary with a wrong ‘un but the wicket-keeper missed an easy stumping. KL Rahul, the culprit this time around let the ball slip from his hands. This certainly didn’t go well with the RCB skipper. Virat Kohli took his Orange Cap off in dismay and looked absolutely frustrated.
