Chadwick Walton and Luke Ronchi came out all guns blazing and made a mockery of the 149-run chase against the Tallawahs. Warriors now, have all but sealed the fourth playoff spot as their net run rate of +0.834 is the second best among all the teams. Tridents, the other team in the race for the playoffs, now has to win both their remaining games by a huge margin to have any chance of going through. Twitterati erupted as Walton blazed his way through the Tallawahs bowlers.

Opting to bat first at Sabina Park, Tallawahs aimed at posting a big score and confirm their top 2 finish after the league stages. But the openers were dismissed early and they were put into the consolidation mode. Skipper Kumar Sangakkara and McCarthy, after a slow start, tried to increase the pace of the game and were successful in doing it, albeit partly. The latter was sent back for a well made 44 off 35 deliveries and soon followed him as Jamaica could not get the final push and only mustered 149/7 in their quota of 20 overs.

For Warriors, it was an all important game and their bowlers stood up big time. Skipper led from the front with an excellent spell of 2/29 in his 4 overs which included a maiden as well. He was very well supported by the hero of the last match Tanvir and Permaul as both were economical and returned with the figures of 2/27 and 1/26 respectively.

Walton and Ronchi show in the chase

Warriors had boosted their Net Run Rate with a magnificent win over Tridents and had to win today to make sure they stay in contention. Though they lost Tanvir in the first over, Walton and Luke Ronchi started playing their shots from the word go. Especially Walton who was all over the home side with his brutal hitting. Unflustered by all the drama at the other end, Ronchi, who replaced his country mate Martin Guptill, proved his worth yet again and took calculated risks with his shots. It was raining boundaries at Sabina Park as the Warriors chased down the target in just 10.3 overs.

Walton remained unbeaten on 84 off just 40 deliveries as he went ballistic with 8 fours and 6 sixes. Ronchi too was not far behind as he blazed his way through to 55 off 29 cherries with 4 fours and manages to clear the rope thrice. Kesrick Williams of Tallawahs had to bear the brunt the most as he was taken away for 46 off just 2 overs. No one was spared as the home team had a bad day at the office and lost their final game in their den.

Twitterati erupted and hailed the magnificent Walton and Ronchi:
