Day 2 began with the Sri Lankan batsmen resuming from their overnight score of 227/4. Dinesh Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella continued to bat strongly in the first session and batted through. While Dickwella missed out on a century as he was bowled by Hasan Ali, Chandimal went on to register his ninth Test century in One Day Internationals.
Dilruwan Perera also provided good support from the other end. At one stage, Sri Lanka were looking good enough to score 500. However, the lower order collapsed like a pack of cards and failed to make any difference to the Lankan total. The likes of Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal, Lakshan Sandakan and Nuwan Pradeep were dismissed cheaply.
While wickets kept tumbling as Sri Lanka went from 387/5 to 419 all out, Chandimal was the last man standing as the players walked back to the pavilion. In his innings of 155 not out, the skipper hit 14 boundaries as his spectacular knock recovered Sri Lanka from the early slump.
For Pakistan, Mohammed Abbas continued to impress as he was the pick amongst the bowlers with figures of 3/70. Yasir Shah also got three wickets. Hasan Ali managed to get a couple of wickets while Haris Sohail managed to get the lone but important wicket of Perera which exposed the islander’s lower order.
Coming out to bat, Pakistani batsmen had 23 overs and they successfully went through the day without any casualties. While Shan Masood was not out on 30, his partner Sami Aslam was also at the crease batting on 31*. At stumps on Day 2, Pakistan were 64/0. Sri Lanka failed to get any wicket.
Twitter kept everyone entertained with some exhilarating tweets right from lauding Chandimal to trolling Mohammed Amir, from lauding Yasir Shah to trolling Shan Masood.

It's frustrating to watch #SLvsPAK when #SriLanka don't have strike bowlers. Should be winning the game after posting 419 runs. @OfficialSLC
