Pakistan failed to take advantage of their home conditions in the first Test in Rawalpindi against England and yet again crumbled under pressure to hand the visitors a 1-0 lead in the series. The Babar Azam-led side wanted to take an early lead in the series while playing on their home turf but it didn't happen.

Instead, England played an attacking brand of cricket on a flat wicket and ended up winning the game on a fascinating day of Test cricket.

Pakistan had their chances to win the game as they had eight wickets in the kitty and were chasing the total of 343 on a wicket that didn't have many demons in it.

However, they could not rise to the occasion and were eventually dismantled with a stunning display of bowling from the visitors. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has copped severe criticism for the type of pitches that have been prepared for Test matches this year at home.

The bowlers did not have any assistance throughout the first Test and Joe Root playing left-handed was an evidence of how good the conditions were for batting. England registered the record of scoring the most number of runs on Day 1 of a Test in the first innings and clearly, it wasn’t a fair contest between the bat and ball.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar had also turned up to the ground to witness his side in action on the final day.

He earlier tweeted “Roughly 45 to 50 overs. 175 runs. Kya kehti hai awaam” when both Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan were involved in a good partnership. However, once Akhtar announced his arrival at the ground, Pakistan lost a string of wickets and ended up conceding the Test.

Twitterati came hard at Akhtar for his tweet and the Rawalpindi Express was mercilessly trolled for the same.

Here’s how Shoaib Akhtar was trolled on Twitter:
