Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan turned 39 on October 27.
Irfan Pathan turned 39 on Friday, October 27 and the former India all-rounder received a plethora of heartwarming wishes from the cricket fraternity, including fans as well as cricketers.
The Baroda-born represented the 'Men in Blue' in 29 Tests, 120 ODIs, and 24 T20Is. He played a crucial role during India's triumphant campaign in the 2007 T20 World Cup. In fact, Pathan was awarded Player of the Match in the epic final against arch-rivals Pakistan after finishing with figures of 3/16 in his four overs. The southpaw was also a part of India's squad that lifted the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
Pathan scored 1105 runs in 29 Tests at an average of 31.57, 1544 runs in 120 ODIs at 23.39, and 172 runs in 24 T20Is at 24.57. He picked up 100 Test wickets at 32.26, 173 ODI wickets at 29.73, and 28 T20I wickets at 22.07. Pathan made his India debut in 2003 during a Test match in Adelaide against Australia while his last international appearance came in 2012 against South Africa in Colombo in the 2012 T20 World Cup.
He played for Punjab Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants, and Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League. After calling time on his international career in 2020, Pathan ventured into commentary and became one of the most revered commentators in quick time. Pathan is also a regular feature in the various leagues involving former cricketers and he continues to do well in them.
