Kuldeep, a right-arm fast bowler earned a national call-up after enjoying a wonderful season in the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL) with Rajasthan Royals as he played in seven outings and scalped eight wickets. The pace sensation has become the 250th player to represent India in ODIs.
Furthermore, the player has featured in 17 first-class matches and picked up 52 wickets at an average of 28.40. His most recent outing was in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Speaking about the playing XI, skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul have all marked their return to the national side after a break they had taken from the recently concluded New Zealand tour.
Furthermore, Rishabh Pant, who was at the receiving end of a lot of criticism throughout the series against the Kiwis, has been released from the ODI squad after consultation with the BCCI medical team. Vice-captain Rahul will take over the duties behind the stumps and another interesting inclusion is that of Shahbaz Ahmed in the Men in Blue's playing XI.
