West Indies and India are all set to continue their ongoing T20I series with the third game at Providence Stadium on Tuesday, August 8. After losing the first two T20Is of the series, the Indian team made some changes to their squad for the third T20I of the series.

Much to the fans’ delight, team India announced that youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal will be making his T20I debut for India. The 21-year-old last played for India in the recently concluded Test series, and did not feature in the three-match ODI series. Furthermore, Jaiswal also did not feature in the first two T20Is, but he finally got the chance in the third game of the ongoing series.

Making his T20I debut, Jaiswal will be keen on impressing with his performances in an attempt to cement his position in the squad. The 21-year-old was especially impactful for Rajasthan Royals in the 16th edition of the tournament and was one of the highest run-getters of the tournament. His quickfire knocks throughout the tournament brought Royals within touching distance of the knockout stages.

Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed with his performances in Test series

Jaiswal’s debut came on the back of India's two losses in the first two T20Is of the series, and his brilliant showing in the recently concluded Test series against the West Indies. Making his international debut, Jaiswal scored a brilliant 171 runs in the first Test to propel India to a mammoth win by an innings and 141 runs.

Furthermore, Jaiswal scored 95 runs in the second Test, which was drawn. With yet another golden chance in the third T20I, the 21-year-old will be keen on stepping up and making the most of the opportunity provided to him. 

As the Indian team aims to make a comeback in the series, it could be interesting to see how they fare with the changes made in the lineup. Led by Hardik Pandya, India will look to give their best and not let the series slip.
