The second match of the ongoing ILT20 between MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriors turned out to be another one-sided contest, much like the campaign opener, as the MI Emirates thrashed Sharjah Warriors by 49 runs. The win was set up in the first innings when Kieron Pollard's side put up a massive tally of 204 runs on the board after their 20 overs.

Chasing the mammoth total, Sharjah Warriors made a wobbly start after they lost Evin Lewis and Dawid Malan for ducks on consecutive deliveries in the second over. Despite those massive initial blows, explosive opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz kept finding boundaries at regular intervals. But he never received any notable support from the other end.

Warriors skipper Moeen Ali got off to a start but failed to convert it into anything substantial and Gurbaz also followed suit after playing a fighting inning for his side. It was the Imran Tahir show from there on as the veteran spinner scalped the next three wickets to completely derail the chase. English all-rounder Chris Woakes played an explosive innings, only to reduce the margin of defeat for Moeen Ali's side.

Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo steal the show after a solid start

Earlier in the match, It was the veteran English all-rounder who won the toss and decided to bowl first on a belter of a batting track. MI Emirates accepted the chance gleefully as made a sparkling half-century for his side, setting them on course for a strong total. Former Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran also chipped in with a belligerent 49 off just 30 deliveries to maintain the pressure on the bowlers.

However, a cluster of wickets in the middle overs, brought down the scoring rate as the Warriors tried to claw their way back into the game. But their hopes were dashed when the veteran all-rounder pair of Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo brought out their pyrotechnics in the death overs. The duo added 41 runs in just over three overs to post a mammoth total of 204 runs on the board.
