Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continued their winning run in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) as they beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by runs in Match 7 on Tuesday, March 26 at MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai. After being put in to bat first, Chennai posted a massive total of 206/6 riding on a half-century from Shivam Dube (51 off 23).

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (46 off 36) and Rachin Ravindra also made valuable contributions adding 62 runs for the first wicket off 32 balls. In reply, GT could only reach 143/8 in their allotted 20 overs with Sai Sudharsan top-scoring with 37 (31). Apart from him, no other batter could surpass the 21-run mark as GT had a collective batting failure. Deepak Chahar (2/28), Mustafizur Rahman (2/30) and Tushar Deshpande (2/21) picked up two wickets each for CSK.

1. Rachin Ravindra gets CSK off to a flying start

The 24-year-old continued from where he left off in the opening game against RCB and once again came out all guns blazing. Ravindra took on the attack on the GT bowlers and mercilessly thrashed them all around the ground scoring 46 off 20 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes in his innings.

2. Sameer Rizvi starts off his IPL career with a bang

The 20-year-old in the penultimate over of the innings and announced his arrival in IPL cricket in style as he smacked Rashid Khan for a maximum over deep square leg. He further came down the track to smash him for another maximum over long off on the last ball of the over. Rizvi was finally dismissed on 14 (6) helping CSK cross the 200-run mark.

3. MS Dhoni takes a blinder behind the stumps

The legendary wicketkeeper turned the clock back in time putting his excellent agility on display behind the stumps as he took a terrific diving catch of Vijay Shankar. The incident took place in the eighth over of the second innings as Daryl Mitchell made Vijay Shankar edge one to Dhoni. The 42-year-old quickly moved to his right and took a stunner diving to his full length to leave everyone astounded.
