Bangladesh and Pakistan locked horns in the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as both sides came to the game looking to seal their semi-final berth. Following the loss to the Netherlands, South Africa's chances to proceed are over, thereby allowing Bangladesh and Pakistan to have a shot at the last four of the marquee event.
Bangladesh, who decided to bat first at the Adelaide Oval, lost wickets at regular intervals to put themselves on the backfoot. However, one such dismissal has caught the attention of the fans and has stirred controversy due to a major umpiring flaw.
Bangla skipper, Shakib Al Hasan stood in disbelief and did not want to leave the pitch following the DRS call by the umpire after he played Pakistan’s Shadab Khan’s delivery on the full and tried to flick it only to miss. What followed was the umpire dismissing him under LBW but the skipper decided to go for the DRS.

Despite the many replays shown on the big screen that clearly projected a clear spike, he was still adjudged out. The Bangla captain was clearly taken aback and had a word with the umpire before trudging off to the pavilion. With Shakib’s dismissal, Bangladesh were at the receiving end of a poor umpiring decision in a crucial match.
The match proves to be a high-octane clash as the winner of this fixture will make it to the last four of the showpiece event. Meanwhile, the tournament has seen a drop in the umpiring standards with the most recent being the five-ball over against Australia in their match against Afghanistan that again caused a controversy.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Shakib Al Hasan's dismissal
Even Shakib Al Hasan doesn't want to leave and he has a words with the umpires before trudging off. Shakib knows ball touched the ball. Ridiculous umpiring.

Unhappy that umpires took no action against Virat Kohli for fake fielding
Unhappy umpires ignored Shakib Al Hasan's request to delay the restart due to a wet outfield
And no doubt unhappy with Shakib lbw decision#T20WorldCup pic.twitter.com/TnPurS97Es
