The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, and many more wished their fans on the 76th Republic Day.
India celebrated its 76th Republic Day on Sunday, January 26, 2025, with grand celebrations across the country. This year's Republic Day was especially significant, as it coincided with the 75th anniversary of India's Constitution, which came into effect on this day in 1950.
The ceremony at the historic Kartavya Path in New Delhi began with the honourable President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, led the nation in a salute, signalling the occasion with a display of India's diversity and military strength.
The celebrations included a stunning array of cultural tableaux from 16 states and Union Territories, and 10 ministries and departments, all reflecting the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,’ celebrating India’s rich heritage and progress. One of the highlights of the parade was a performance by 300 artists who played 'Sare Jahan Se Achha' on musical instruments from across India.
Former India legend Sachin Tendulkar reflected on how our country is full of vibrant cities to serene villages, and the strength lies in diversity. He also expressed his being lucky to be part of this country with a rich heritage.
“From the Himalayas to the Indian Ocean, from vibrant cities to serene villages, our strength lies in our diversity. Proud to be a citizen of this incredible country, our home...India. Happy Republic Day! Jai Hind,” Tendulkar tweeted.
Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, and skipper Rohit Sharma also took to social media to wish all the fans on Republic Day.
