T20 World Cup 2024: NEP vs NED Match 7 Highlights: Unmissable video recap, turning points, match analysis, stats, and more
Netherlands start their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with a win after getting past Nepal in the first T20I played at the Grand Prairie Stadium.
The Netherlands registered their first win of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday, June 04, at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, as they got the better of a young Nepal side.
The Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards won the toss and opted to field first. The decision proved right as the Nepal side lost both their openers under the powerplay. Anil Sah also failed to hit some runs off his bat as he departed after scoring just 11 runs. Skipper Rohit Paudel tried to build small partnerships with his compatriots but the middle order of Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sompal Kami all went back to the pavilion cheaply. Paudel was the only standout performer with the bat scoring 35 off 37, including five boundaries.
Tim Pringle (3/20) and Logan van Beek (3/18) shared six wickets between them as the Dutch side bundled out Nepal for a below-par 106 runs in 19.2 overs.

Coming to the chase, Edwards and Co. had an easy target in front of them and one partnership could help them cross over the line. Nepal started well as they got rid of Michael Levitt in the second over of the Netherlands innings. Max O'Dowd played a brilliant innings of 54 off 48 to make sure his side is in a comfortable position. However the Dutch camp was worried in the middle as they lost a few wickets quickly, but Max and Bas de Leede made sure they emerged victorious.
Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Abinash Bohara all picked one wicket each but Paudel and Co. couldn't defend their mere total as Netherlands ended their innings at 109/4 and won the match by six wickets with eight balls to spare.
