Twitter Reactions: Dramatic thriller ensures India A’s win over Pakistan A in Emerging Asia Cup 2024
India defeated Pakistan by seven runs.
India defeated Pakistan by seven runs in the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup 2024. 23 runs were needed for the Men in Green in the last two overs as the game could have gone in any team’s favour. However, India managed to keep their calm, particularly Rasikh Salam, who gave away just eight runs in the penultimate over of the game. It might immense pressure on Pakistan, who went about business in the final over but it was a difficult ask.
Anshul Kamboj gave away nine runs in the final over and picked up the wicket of Abdul Samad to get the job done for India. The Tilak Varma-led side reigned supreme, winning the match by seven runs. Pakistan, despite losing early wickets, were in the contest for the longest time but just like seniors, the youngsters failed to keep hold of their nerve at crucial junctions, which helped India tremendously.
Meanwhile, openers Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh set the tone for India. They stitched a partnership of 68 runs as Abhishek made 35 off 22 balls while Prabhsimran smacked 36 off 19. It was followed by a mature knock of 44 runs by Tilak and Nehal Wadhera made 25. Later, Ramandeep Singh also played a cameo of 17 runs off 11 balls. Courtesy of that, India posted a total of 183 runs on the board.

India's strong fight against Pakistan
When it came to the chase, Pakistan were 21/2 at one stage. Kamboj picked up two wickets in the powerplay which put the Mohammad Haris-led side on the backfoot. Since then, Qasim Akram and Arafat Minhas have taken control of the situation, scoring 27 and 41 runs respectively. After their dismissals, Samad looked good, scoring 25 but couldn’t finish things off.
Kamboj was the star with the ball for team India, picking up three wickets while Rashik and Nishant Sindhu picked up two each. Meanwhile, with the win India moves to second on the points table of Group A, which also features UAE and Oman.
