Nicknamed India's Mr. 360 by the fans, Suryakumar looked at tremendous ease on a sticky pitch that had troubled the other batters, playing some jaw-dropping shots behind the wicket. The power-hitter provided the much-needed impetus to the Indian innings in the latter stages, registering his half-century in just 22 deliveries, stunning the Hong Kong bowlers, who had no answer against the rampaging Indian batter.
The 31-year-old smashed three consecutive sixes on the first three deliveries of the final over, finishing with four sixes in the over as India posted 192 runs on the board on the back of the 26-run final over. The pair of Kohli and Suryakumar added an unbeaten 98 runs for the third wicket at a breathtaking pace, off just 42 deliveries.
Coming to Kohli, the batting ace, who has had a prolonged lean run with the bat, showed signs of form in the blockbuster clash against Pakistan, playing a crucial knock of 35 runs when the Indians were in a spot of bother after losing KL Rahul for a duck in the first over. His innings against Hong Kong will delight the Indian team and the fans alike.
