Cricketers mark a new dawn and with that comes action packed matches. The previous year witnessed some phenomenal performances with Australia winning the World Cup, New Zealand proposing a new brand of cricket and Bangladesh coming up with loads of surprise.

England earned the urn and defeated an Australian side that went down the tunnel. India on the other hand played some historic games this year. Reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup, beating Sri Lanka on their soil and thumping South Africa in Tests in a convincing manner.

A glittery IPL was followed by CPL, Ram slam T20 and BPL, whereas BBL made sure the year ends on a high. The day/night Test at Adelaide Oval was a line-in-the-sand moment. It was the brightest thing to happen in cricket since the Packer revolution. The initiative has passed with flying colours and moving forward, this should become the norm rather than an experiment.

Sourav Ganguly became the Cricket Association of Bengal president while Shashank Manohar made a surprise return to take charge of the Indian cricket board and the International Cricket Council.

Let’s check out how the cricketers spent the New Year’s eve and what all they had to say to their fans. Virat Kohli felt grateful and wished a happy year to everyone, whereas Jimmy Neesham had a funny way to wish his fans.
