Match 11 of the PSL was between the Lahore Qalandars and the Karachi Kings. The former won the toss and elected to bowl first. All ten matches thus far had been won by teams batting second and the Karachi side was given the task to turn things around.

Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan walked out to open the batting while Shaheen Afridi had the new ball in hand. In only his second over, he bowled a pinpoint yorker to send his national team captain back to the pavilion. Within the next couple of overs, Joe Clarke and Colin Ingram too lost their wickets. While the former was run out after scoring four runs, Ingram was dismissed for a golden duck.

Mohammad Nabi, the new man in, and Sharjeel Khan now had a task on their hands. A powerplay score of 53-3 meant that they had the runs but the wicket column was a cause of concern. However, they were involved in a quickfire 76-run partnership to get things back on track. The opener top-scored with 64 runs while Nabi scored 57 runs.

Daniel Christian provided the finishing impetus scoring 27 runs off 14 balls to take his side to a score of 186 runs at the end of their 20 overs. Shaheen starred with the ball as he took three wickets conceding only 27 runs in his four overs. The consistency with which he bowled his yorkers impressed one and all.

Fakhar Zaman stars with the bat to hand Lahore their third win

Chasing 187, Lahore got off to the worst possible start. They lost two wickets in the very first over without having any runs on the board. Sohail Akhtar was run out while Joe Denly was clean bowled by a beauty from Mohammad Amir. They lost Hafeez soon after and it seemed like we were finally going to see a side win batting first.

However, it was not to be as Fakhar Zaman and Ben Dunk were then involved in a 119-run partnership to take the game away from the Karachi side. Zaman played a knock of 83 runs which included eight boundaries and four sixes. Dunk supported him well and himself scored an unbeaten 57.

David Weise played an attacking knock to seal the game for his side. His knock of 31 in just 9 balls meant that Lahore won the match with four balls to spare. A six-wicket win in this match took them to the second spot in the points table.
