Soon, after settling well enough, Kohli started to take the attack to the opposition. He reached the landmark number in the 43th over. It was a gentle volley from Akila Dananjaya and Kohli pushed it past the point region to complete yet another majestic ton.
The entire dressing room lauded the effort of the Indian skipper. Kohli had no fancy celebrations to go about it as he knew the task was yet to be completed. He eventually saw India through with 6 wickets in hand. He remained unbeaten on 110 that came off 116 deliveries with 9 fours to his name.
