Twitter Reactions: Mohammed Shami’s central contract withheld after wife’s accusations
Shami held a Grade B contract from the BCCI but his name was missing from the list this time around.
Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami was suddenly in the news when his wife put out posts on social media alleging that he was involved in several extra-marital affairs. Hasin Jahan went on to claim that she was physically and mentally abused as well as tortured by Shami and his family.
She has also filed an FIR and has made her intentions clear of taking the matter to court. Hasin posted screengrabs of conversations on WhatsApp and Facebook messenger where the cricketer is taking to other women and making sexually suggestive comments. Thus she claims to have proof of adultery.
Amidst all that, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today released the updated list of central contracts with the addition of a new Grade – A+. Shami who held a Grade B contract until last year was excluded from the list this time.
However, it was soon clarified that his name will be included back in the contract list if he gets a clean chit in the matter.
“Shami has been dropped from the player contracts system because his wife filed a complaint against him. Shami has been dropped from contract due to disciplinary reason and will be included in the contract list if (his) innocence is proved,” sources told NDTV on Wednesday.
While Jahan on her part said that: “He was planning to abandon me after his South Africa tour by taking away the property and insurance papers. I have been tolerating all this for the past five years. He has been asking for divorce for two years.”
“I’m not going to divorce him till my last breath. I’ve all evidences against him and will soon drag him to court,” she said.
Shami claimed innocence indicating at conspiracy in his tweet which read – “Hi I’m Mohammad Shami. Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai.”
