Twitter Reactions on Warner’s destruction and Afghanistan bowling: Mohammad Nabi the Afghanistan captain won the toss against Australia and decided to put the Aussies in to bat first, the look of it suggested that we were in for a huge total. So did happen, the dynamo opener David Warner whose bat was silent all this while in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 got going today and when he does it ensures that the opposition bowers have no space to breath.

Warner and Steve Smith together stitched the highest partnerships by an Australian pair in world cup cricket (260 runs). The opener was batting so well that another 200 looked in hindsight but as he was on 178 off 133 balls, miscued a ball from Shapoor Zardan and was caught. To an extent Australia missed the tempo a bit, but then there were Glenn Maxwell (88 off 39) and Brad Haddin (20 off 9) quick fire innings which in the end got the team total to 417-6 in 50 over’s which is the highest in world cup.

Afghanistan was subjected to TROLLs on the social media for electing to bowl first and many rightly predicted another 400+ score was on the cards and so did happen. Others were vocal about the way this world cup 2015 has been shaping and turning out to be a batsmen oriented tournament and the bowlers are never in the game with flat wickets and additional field restrictions.

The ICC, Afghanistan team and other players received special focus as #AUSvAFG trending on the micro blogging site twitter. Here are the tweets of the day:
