Twitter Reactions: Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada involve in a heated altercation on the field
The heated argument was a result of the irritation of the Proteas failing to get a wicket and bowling in searing heat.
Quinton de Kock had a very good first Test match where he scored a brilliant century and kept brilliantly well in the encounter that South Africa lost by 203 runs. The Proteas were hoping for a different and much better outing in the second do which is being played at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
However, Indian batsmen piled on the misery on South African bowlers with only Kagiso Rabada proving to be something different as he picked up all the three wickets to fall on day one which included that of centurion Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara who were the main scorers as India made 273/3. However, as the Indian batsmen, Kohli, in particular, piled on the runs at expense of a tiring Proteas bowling, mistakes started creeping in.
One such mistake was seen done by keeper Quinton de Kock, whose lapse in concentration led to Kohli sneaking in a single, which made Kagiso Rabada pretty mad. In the 123rd over of the innings, a tireless Rabada was steaming into bowl to Ravindra Jadeja and the good-length delivery on and around the off-stump was dabbed back to the bowler by Jadeja.
Rabada picked the ball and lobbed it towards De Kock. Unfortunately, De Kock was not paying attention to Rabada and the ball which went a bit away from the keeper gave Kohli enough time to call Jadeja and sneak in a single. This led to an exhausted Rabada go on a foul-mouthed tirade against De Kock asking him to pay attention to him and the ball.
De Kock replied in kind gesturing angrily towards the bowler asking him to let him know if he is throwing the ball to him. The heated argument was a result of the irritation of the Proteas failing to get a wicket and bowling in searing heat.
Here’s the incident
Meanwhile, the Indian team has gone on from strength to strength as Virat Kohli kept on piling runs despite losing Rahane for 58, who fell to Keshav Maharaj who had bowled more than 40 overs for over 150 runs, a nightmare for him. The Twitterati were in split seeing the Proteas fell apart and decided to troll to De Kock for not paying any attention to the ball.
