The second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh have mostly been marred by rain. The match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium had every chance of being an exciting one. But the heaves opening up time and again hasn’t helped the cause. With one day left in the game, the match is heading towards a tame draw as the Tigers are trailing by 224 runs with three wickets in hand.
Fawad, Rizwan score fifties
Babar Azam and Azhar Ali had scored half-centuries in the second day’s play of the encounter. But they had to wait for quite a bit as rain had halted play. After the entire Day three got washed off due to rain, the overnight batters started proceedings. After a 123-run stand between the two batters, Ebadot Hossain separated them. The fast bowler got rid of Azhar, who made 56 with eight fours.
Soon after, Babar perished to Khaled Ahmed in the 68th over. Babar was clinical in his approach as he made 76 runs with nine fours and one six. Thereafter, Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan put on an unbeaten 107-run stand for the fifth wicket. Once both batters got to their half-centuries, Pakistan declared with their score at 300 for four. Taijul Islam got two wickets for the Tigers.
Sajid Khan unfolds mayhem for Pakistan
Bangladesh have found themselves in all sorts of trouble in their first innings. Although they are more or less sure of escaping with a draw, their poor batting has raised concerns. Sajid Khan, the right-arm off-break bowler, picked up six wickets and made the Tigers’ batters struggle. Barring Mominul Haque Showrabh, who perished to a run-out, the other six wickets went to Khan.
Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 30 off 50 with three fours before Khan trapped him plumb in front. The likes of Mushfiqur Rahim and Shadman Islam couldn’t make an impact either. Debutant Mahmudul Hasan Joy got out for a seven-ball duck. Shakib Al Hasan stayed unbeaten on 23 with Bangladesh’s score at 76 for seven. They are still a long way away from Pakistan’s score.

🇵🇰🇧🇩Bangladesh tasting it's own medicine as tigers are famous for killing opposition at home by curating spin wickets! Meanwhile Sajid Khan has revived the belief in the art of orthodox offspin! Pakistan may not end up winning but they've brought excitement in Dhaka Test!#BANvPAK

Today Babar Azam bowls for the first time in international cricket, in his 190th match. He almost got the wicket of Taijul Islam in his first over.#BANvPAK
