The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got underway on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with a glittering opening ceremony. The Stadium was already filled with the crowd as they were in anticipation of some of the prominent Bollywood stars to set the stage on fire. However, the event lived up to the expectations as the stars sizzled on the stage on some of their favourite Bollywood flicks even as there were few Tamil songs only for the fans of Chennai Super Kings.

To start off the proceedings, the gen-next star Varun Dhawan entered into the scene to a huge roar from the crowd as he danced on his recent Bollywood numbers which were a huge hit. Meanwhile, there was a surprise entry from one of the legendary dancers Prabhu Deva who looked classy as usual while tapping his feet. In the end, it was the fight between Varun and Prabhu Deva to show the tussle between Mumbai and Chennai which was loved by the crowd.

Hrithik, Tamannah and Jacqueline win hearts

Tamannah Bhatia was the next and she made a grand entry at the background music of Baahubali, the movie which was loved all over the world. Even she got a rousing applause from the cricket loving people of Mumbai. However, Mika Singh also sang a few famous songs to get the jam-packed crowd warmed up. Jacqueline Fernandez, the Sri Lankan beauty, actually blazed the show with her moves as she was looking beautiful while on the stage. She stepped up to the task much like her colleagues had done earlier.

Though it was Hrithik Roshan who stole the show with a special performance on some of his trademark songs. He performed his moves with absolute ease which won the hearts of many as his fans were left gushing on him. Twitterati also loved the show as they were more excited for the action in the middle to begin.

While some of them as usual trolled, many liked the way the Indian Premier League entered in its new decade.
