Twitter Reactions: Spinners give a dramatic finish to Pakistan v England 1st Test: Cricket is a crazy game. The 1st Test between England and Pakistan was written off as a dead contest. The pitch was blamed for being too flat. Until the 4th day, not even the 1st innings was over.

There was an exciting day waiting for the cricket fans but, just when we thought that the 5th day’s play would just be a formality. Things changed dramatically and there was a massive turnaround.

Two superb catches from Jimmy Anderson and some exceptional bowling from debutant Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali bundled Pakistan in the 2nd innings. Pakistan went from formidable in the 1st innings and fragile in the 2nd innings. There was a gutsy chase waiting for England. They required just 99 runs from 20 overs with a required rate just around 5, which is pretty ordinary as per the limited overs standards today.

The chase, however, was unpredictable and tricky because of two factors; the pitch had begun to turn and did not look like the flat batting track it was for the last 4 days and more importantly the fading light. And, as expected, bad light halted the exciting final day of the Test match which was a dead rubber until yesterday.

Unfortunately, England fell 25 runs short from pulling off one of the most famous victories of this highly mutable game. Though the Test ended in an entertaining manner.
